Notes sur l’historique de la propriété -acre farmstead on Lot 32, German Company Tract. This land was located on both sides of what is today known as Erb Street West and Fischer-Hallman Road.

David Eby played an important role in pioneer Mennonite worship. In the 1830s, a preacher was scheduled to lead worship at this farm every fourth Sunday. In 1851, a brick meeting house and cemetery were built on Eby's land, across Erb's Road from his house. The Erb Street Mennonite Cemetery currently occupies this land at the corner of Erb Street and Fischer-Hallman Road.

The Eby-Hallman house stood in the way of the proposed Zehrs Beechwood Plaza at Fischer-Hallman Drive and Erb Street. One of the largest developers in the Region made the house available to the North Waterloo Region ACO Branch on condition that the buyer be found to move it within a specific period of time. Thanks to the efforts of Bob Rowell and Ron Cascaden, a buyer was found and the finances of the branch were enriched by $2,500.

The house was carefully dismantled, faithfully photographed and rebuilt north of Shelburne, on Sideroad 5 in the Township of Melancthon, Dufferin County.

Subsequent owners re-sided the house and it is difficult to identify the original lines. As such, the Eby-
